| This map and the map on the preceding page were created for Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Part of a US History textbook, the figure is a recreation of the Plymouth colony that was famously founded by Pilgrims in 1620. The water and land were modeled using real-world data. The shape and location of the village as well as the architecture of the huts and homes is derived from historical documents and the recreated full scale "Plimoth Plantation" located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. |
